Peach, 'Lovell'

Freestone, large, perfectly round fruit; yellow skin with a slight blush; flesh fine-grained, firm and solid similar to an apricot, and clear yellow to the pit. This variety is superior for canning, and also dries well. High yielding. Originated in Winters, California and first named in 1882. Vigorous grower and resistant to bacterial canker and other diseases-- enough so that it is also used as rootstock for grafting.
