The Bob Gordon American Elderberry was identified and collected from the wild by Robert Gordon, Charlotte Cooper, and Andrew Thomas near Osceola, MO, on September 29, 1999. Fruits are sweeter and larger than other cultivars. The plants are vigorous and productive. Inverts head upside down which protects berries from birds. American elderberry which can be mowed to the ground annually in the fall. Produces best with another elderberry variety for pollination.
