Tlor-Tsiran is an unusual, naturally occurring very cold hardy hybrid of apricot (P. armeniaca) and myrobalan plum (P. cerasifera) from central Asia. Also known as black apricot. The skin of the delicious, oval fruit is lightly fuzzy like an apricot but is dark purple. The tree is self fertile, and plenty winter hardy. The flesh is a pretty marbled orange and yellow.
The tree's white blossoms appear slightly later than other apricots, pollinated by apricots or plum crosses. The trees grow vigorously, fruit production is not as prolific as other apricots but very high quality when you get them.
