Mesquite, Screwbean (Bare Root)

Albuquerque is situated towards the northern limit of the screwbean mesquite's natural range along the Rio Grande. They can be the primary bosque overstory tree in more southerly SW riparian stretches, or can coexist alongside taller phreatophytes (groundwater reliant species like cottonwood and willow). They are listed in Albuquerque's climate ready tree list, trees considered well adapted for both current and future climatic conditions.
